Murzyn Hall accommodates a maximum of 375 people. The rental fee for 2010 or 2011 is $960 for Sunday through Friday rentals and $1195 for Saturday rentals. A 25% discount is permitted if the bride or groom or one of their parents is a Columbia Heights resident with current homeowner's insurance on a Columbia Heights home.

All renters are required to make a $500 non-refundable down payment. In the case of a cancellation the down payment will be returned only if hall can be re-rented. The person who signs the lease agreement will also be required to show proof of personal liability insurance of $100,000 minimum at a later date. This insurance is usually covered under your homeowner's insurance.

In addition to the rental fee, a $500 damage deposit is required. This damage deposit is cashed prior to the event and refunded after the rental if there is no damage. If alcohol is being served at an event, a $150 deposit for 2010 and 2011, is required for the security officer services. This deposit is applied toward the officer's time at the rate of $24 per hour plus tax for 2010 and $25 per hour plus tax for 2011. The Murzyn Hall coordinator arranges the security.

Rental of Murzyn Hall includes the main hall, the kitchen, and the bar area. Friday rentals are from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m.; Saturday and Sunday rentals are from 12:00 noon until 1:00 a.m. Renters may choose any licensed caterer. Only licensed caterers are allowed to cook in our kitchen. Caterers must have a current catering license and must list the City of Columbia Heights as additional insured on their insurance. Plates and silverware are available for a rental fee to accommodate groups of up to 375 people.

Regarding alcohol service, if fewer than 275 people are to be at an event you may choose to have either a cash bar, using the Columbia Heights Lion's Club for bartending, or you may bring in a licensed liquor establishment to serve alcohol. In this case you will need to bring in all of your own supplies and provide drinks free to your guests for the entire night; however, you cannot have a BYOB. You will also be required to use the in-house pop and CO2; the charge is $100 for the entire use during the event. With parties of 275 people or more, the only type of bar you may have is a cash bar using the Columbia Heights Lion's Club for bartending. There is no cost to the renter for using the Lion's Club bartenders. The Lion's Club will bring in a bartending team, all supplies and alcohol. They will then sell drinks starting at $3.00 and $1.00 for pop. The Lion’s Club is the only organization allowed to sell alcohol on premises.
